    Magic rocks!

A special evening, special people, and Magic that rocks!

There are evenings that remain suspended in time. Evenings made of laughter, emotions, memories, and that invisible thread that connects people through something deeper than words. This was one of those evenings.

The occasion was truly special: the 50th birthday of a special doctor, Emanuele Ausili. A man who has dedicated—and continues to dedicate—a large part of his life to helping others. As President of La Terrazza dell’Infanzia, his mission has always been guided by solidarity, compassion, and action. Knowing him for so many years means knowing not only his commitment, but also the incredible community of people who share his vision.

This celebration became more than just a birthday. It was an opportunity to reconnect. To see familiar faces again, some after many years. To exchange smiles, hugs, and stories that time had carefully preserved.

All of this took place in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Ristorante l’Uliveto, in the beautiful town of Palombara Sabina. Long tables filled with friends, colleagues, and fellow travelers in this shared journey of humanity.

And of course… Magic could not be missing.

Wonder, laughter, and joy flowed naturally from table to table. Eyes wide open. Smiles impossible to hide. The simple, powerful pleasure of being surprised. There was someone who still carried a signed card in their wallet from fifteen years ago. Someone who remembered, with vivid clarity, an impossible effect seen long ago. And someone else experiencing that delicious feeling of being “deceived” for the very first time.

These are the moments that remind me why Magic exists. Not just to fool—but to connect. To create memories. To make people feel something real.

Being part of Emanuele’s initiatives, even with a small contribution, fills me with deep satisfaction. Because when Magic meets solidarity, something even greater happens.

And as always, meeting old friends—or discovering new ones—is a powerful emotion.

    A special evening.
    Special people.
    And Magic that rocks!

  • Luis Otero: The Perfect Recipe for Magic

Luis Otero: The Perfect Recipe for Magic

A Masterclass in Perfectly Balanced Magic

There are conferences that inform, conferences that entertain, and then there are conferences that leave a lasting impression on your artistic soul.

The recent lecture by Luis Otero at the Circolo Illusionisti di Roma was, without question, one of the most beautiful and meaningful magic conferences I have ever attended.

Otero is an internationally acclaimed magician, a regular performer at the legendary Magic Castle in Hollywood. Yet, beyond his impressive résumé, what truly defines him is something far more valuable: clarity.

    A Magic of Perfect Balance

    Luis Otero’s magic is clean.
Clean in its ideas. Clean in its execution.

His work represents a perfect blend of humor, mime, technical mastery, and magical philosophy. If we were chefs instead of magicians, we could say his magic is a perfectly balanced dish. Every ingredient is present, recognizable, and essential—none overpowering the others. The dosage is perfect.

His mime, refined through theatrical studies, gives depth and emotional texture to his performances. His warmth and natural charisma—so typical of Latin artists—create an immediate connection with the audience. His presentations are coherent, structured with an almost obsessive attention to detail. His ideas are original. His technique is precise and invisible.

Everything serves the magic. Nothing is excessive.

    The Man Before the Magician

As often happens with great lecturers, Otero arrived early at the club. Before the official start, he generously engaged with the magicians already present, answering questions, discussing techniques, and sharing theoretical insights.

What emerged immediately was his humanity.

He is a simple person—not simple in skill, but simple in the most noble sense: modest, sincere, authentic. Far removed from the pedestals on which many artists place themselves, Otero stood among us as a colleague, not above us.

This alone speaks volumes about his character.

The Conference: Two Hours That Felt Like Minutes

When the lecture officially began, it unfolded naturally—entertaining, fluid, and deeply engaging.

For over two hours, Otero guided us through his magic, his thinking, and his creative process. His expressive communication, enriched by the musical rhythm of the Spanish language, made every explanation vivid and alive.

    Time passed quickly. Too quickly.

There was not a single heavy moment. Not a single unnecessary word. Only substance, insight, and inspiration.

It was, simply put, a beautiful conference.

    Final Thoughts

What makes Luis Otero special is not just what he does, but how and why he does it. His magic is honest. It reflects years of study, reflection, and artistic integrity. It reminds us that true magic is not about fooling the audience, but about communicating something meaningful.

He does not try to impress. He simply expresses.

And that makes all the difference.

A Note on the Way Home

There is also a quiet magic in the journey back from the Circolo.

Crossing Rome late at night, free from traffic and noise, feels like walking through what Alberto Sordi once called an open-air museum. The city reveals hidden glimpses of beauty that daytime chaos often conceals.

In those silent streets, after an evening like this, magic does not end.

    It simply changes form.

  • A Night Of Wonder At Libreria ELI In Rome

    October 25, 2025

At Libreria ELI, time seems to have its own rhythm. The moment you step inside, the outside world stays suspended at the threshold: voices soften, thoughts slow down, and among shelves full of stories, you rediscover the pleasure of getting lost—or perhaps finding yourself—in something you weren’t even looking for.

    Waiting for Magic

ELI, as its founder likes to describe it, is much more than a bookstore. It’s a place where leisure, modernity, and social connection intertwine, offering carefully selected books and opportunities for encounters that nurture curiosity and imagination.

In this timeless space, Magic returned for the third time. Six illusionists from the Circolo Illusionisti di Roma (IBM Ring 204) brought the evening to life, transforming the bookstore into a small theater of the impossible. Between soft lighting and shelves full of words, their hands guided the audience’s gaze toward the invisible: gestures that defy logic, glances that anticipate the unpredictable, silences full of wonder.

    Magicians

Each performance was a story, a shared moment of amazement. The audience, attentive and smiling, followed with the same wonder with which one follows a story they never want to end.

Because at Libreria ELI, between one page and another, magic is not just an illusion: it’s a way of being together, of allowing yourself to be surprised, and a reminder that even in everyday life, there is still room for enchantment.

Mark your calendars for the next magical evening at Libreria ELI!
